Geelong Illustrators is a small collective of artists from Geelong & surrounds, designed to be a platform for illustrative artists to collaborate and inspire through group exhibitions, meets and mutual support. It is a community group with the aim to inspire each other to high standards of creativity with zero pretentiousness.
With this in mind, Clare Holder (GI Manager) and I decided to create a magazine. It was a collaborative project with all the members. Titles were hand drawn, artwork was scanned, photographed or photoshopped. The first edition was so successful it increased our membership and we sold out fast. Edition 2 quickly followed. This is the third edition I have been Creative Director for, and the fourth edition is on its way! Geelong Illustrators prides itself in being environmentally friendly so the magazine is printed on 100% recycled stock.
